Josh Whitehouse (Eddie Roundtree), Suki Waterhouse (Karen Sirko), Sam Claflin (Billy Dunne), Sebastian Chacon (Warren Rojas), Riley Keough (Daisy Jones), Will Harrison (Graham Dunne)

Led by an ensemble cast that consists of actor-director Riley Keough, Sam Claflin, Camila Morrone, Will Harrison, Suki Waterhouse, Josh Whitehouse, Sebastian Chacon, Nabiyah Be, Tom Wright and Timothy Olyphant. Despite some predictable storylines, there is much to love about the new series from Executive Producer Reese Witherspoon.

The series is selling the glamour of sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll in the 70’s and makes sure to follow each of the band members’ character arcs. The series opens in present day as each member reflects on their past in faux rockumentary style and splices it with scenes as if you were reliving the moments with them.

Claflin plays front man Billy Dunne who has this explosive chemistry with singer-songwriter Daisy Jones (played by Keough). Dunne and Jones need each other to create music, but as the lyrics to Look At Us Now suggests, “we can make a good thing bad.”

As a fictional band, they kept it real by having the actual actors sing and perform for the band’s album, which is also an album available on your favorite streaming platforms. Daisy Jones & the Six is the first fictional band to top the iTunes Chart, thanks to producer Blake Mills who has production credits with artists such as Sky Ferreira, Fiona Apple, Alabama Shakes, John Legend, Marcus Mumford. The songs alone are good, but the backstory behind it makes it great. Listening to the songs in the context of the show’s story enhances the Daisy Jones & the Six experience.
