How was it to play Maddie in Imposters for 2 Seasons?

Playing Maddie is challenging, liberating and very exciting.

Everyday was very different playing Maddie.

Now let’s talk about Eve from Lucifer. How did you book the role?

I actually got a call from my team saying that there is a role on Lucifer that the creators wanted to offer me. One of the head writers of the show is actually a big fan of Imposters and he thought I would fit Eve perfectly. It was offered to me and I was very, very grateful.

Eve is brave enough to go after her curiosity and her passion and to me, that’s very courageous. I wasn’t playing her as someone who made a mistake. I was playing her as someone who is very curious and excited to learn.

Given the multiple interpretations and portrayals of “EVE” in pop culture, literature and different references worldwide, how different is your Eve from all the Eves out there?

I’m sure it will be different because it’s played by me and I’ve never done it before. There are definitely certain aspects of myself that I try to stay true to while playing Eve.

I think personally the most interesting thing about Eve was the concept of sin and how she’s considered to be the original sinner. But I don’t really see it that way.

How was it working with the cast of Lucifer?

A dream. Really. I got to jump on in this ship that was basically sinking and it got resurrected. Everyone had to fight really hard to keep it going and the amazing fans really brought it back to life. Everyone was on this high and I just waltzed in. I got to show up and enjoy this sense of gratitude that was on– set everyday. Everyone was just so happy to be back. Tom was fantastic, hilarious and professional and also incredibly talented and kind. He sets the tone for the rest f the cast and crew – Lauren, Lesley-Ann, Rachel and Kevin and DB and everyone…it’s been a dream.

Out of all the roles that you’ve played, do you have a specific favorite and why?

I would say playing Maddie Johnson was such a dream part because for an actor you kind of get stagnant doing the same thing over and over again but with Maddie- she was different characters all at once and I got to really push myself and unveil all these different layers in the show and it was a lot of fun.

Last book you’ve read?

Last book I’ve read was All the Rivers (גדר חיה) by Dorit Rabinyan.

It’s in Hebrew and written by a beautiful novelist who gave it to me in the hopes of turning it into a feature actually.

If you were a book, what book would you be and why?

I would probably be the Bible so I can be around as long as the Bible has been around to see and experience all the different times and cultures.
