WITH BRIGHT THINGS ON THE HORIZON, THE DRIVER ERA TALKS ABOUT NEW ALBUM, THEIR EVOLVING MUSIC, AND TOUR [IN PRINT]
The Driver Era’s rich, and dynamic sound takes you to a journey that transcends genres. It’s playful, it’s sexy, yet it’s rebellious and unapologetic. There’s definitely a hint of The Killers, Phoenix, M.G.M.T, Oasis, and other related alternative pop-rock acts in their music but you can still hear their stamp on it.

The most inspiring thing about the Driver Era is that at the heart of their ever-evolving music is the joy of creation. There is an obvious, undeniable seed of bliss embedded in each of their creations.
The thing that really stood out from working with brothers Rocky and Ross Lynch was their infectious energy. Despite their hectic schedules and deadlines, they were still able to deliver and were generous and open enough to create with us, and that is something that I really respect from artists. Artists who are very open and giving makes the creation process more dynamic that it never feels like work at all. You can easily tell from working with the brothers how comfortable they are working together as well as working with other people. Collaboration is key. Though they are two totally different people, they complement each other. And this kind of dynamic is what makes their music fly. Their constant collaboration, although for the most part challenged by geographic distance and crazy schedules, is that special element that makes the band successful.
In our 1st Anniversary Special, we sat down with the brothers and talked about their own individual processes in creating music as well as the highlights of having raw and authentic sound from their upcoming self-produced album. We also spoke about how they constantly strive and try to do better, their incessant desire to create from joy and little bit of tea about The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and its upcoming season.
