Versatile, multi-faceted musician MAR spoke to A BOOK OF about her upcoming single CALAVERA, her musical journey, dream projects, her inspirations, life goals and more.
You released your debut single, QUEDATÉ a few months back and now you’re about to drop your second one. What’s your upcoming single, CALAVERA about?
This song is open to one’s interpretation but to me it’s about bouncing back .
How would you describe your music?
My music is versatile and multifaceted. I’m excited to share more of this in the future!
Where do you get your inspirations from?
Inspiration is everywhere. It surrounds us. It’s within us. You can find it in a picture, in the moon’s shine, in droplets of water falling slowly, and within the seasons and fragments of time. I am most inspired by the beauty of connection and all that it is to exist in this life! When inspiration calls, we must answer that call & ride the wave.
What has been the proudest moments of your music career so far?
I’m most proud of having performed at Madison Square Garden! That was a dream come true for me.

To just be!
What are your dream projects?
I dream of creating a body of work that feels like heaven on earth. One that showers us in love and remembrance, honoring our origins!
I have so many dream projects that are full of magic, wonder, and create atmospheres that allow us to travel in time! One of my goals is to create a sanctuary for musicians and for our planet!
Is there a skill / talent that a lot of people don’t know about you?
I love to improv freestyle rap for fun and sometimes it just flows really well hahaha
