ALBUM REVIEW: MAJID JORAN DEFINE THEIR SOUND IN ' GOOD PEOPLE'

We've come a long way since that short feature on Drake's "Hold On, We're Going Home." Majid Jordan has unleashed their fourth studio album, "Good People," via OVO Sound, and it's nothing short of a musical revelation.

Describing this new sound in one word: lush. These stripped-back tracks resonate exactly as their titles suggest, creating an immersive soulful experience. While Majid's vocals are at its best, it's Jordan's production that steals the spotlight, crafting a symbiotic relationship between voice and vibe. The acoustic tracks, while good, could use a sprinkle of innovation in their beats.

The inclusion of Naomi Sharon on "Waiting For You" adds a Sade-like elegance to the mix, showcasing OVO's newest talent. The album's conciseness is a breath of fresh air, with only a couple of tracks feeling like potential fillers. 

This new release from Majid Jordan marks a significant step forward in the R&B landscape, proving that this particular sound is evolving and heading somewhere exciting.

And then there's "Violet," a seven-minute track that stands as the albums best. Not many artists can pull off such a lengthy record, but Majid Jordan does it so effortlessly. It's my personal favorite

The album's title, "Good People," harks back to the duo's origins, a fitting choice for a record that not only defines their sound but also serves as a milestone in their discography. "Good People" is more than an album; it's a collection of memories and vibes that resonate with the listener.  With just nine tracks, each contributing uniquely to the overall vibe, Majid Jordan's latest release is a testament to their enduring musical legacy, signaling a promising future. The duo will embark on a tour starting later this month in Vancouver.
